Frequently Asked Questions
What is the dress code?
Mamounia Lounge Mayfair operates a smart casual dress code. This is more relaxed during the day but after 16:00, shorts, tracksuits, sportswear, slippers and sliders are not permitted.
Is there any live entertainment?
By popular demand, we will have a DJ and belly dance performance on Friday and Saturday nights throughout August 2024! A 3-course set menu will be available as well as a welcome drink of either champagne or a mocktail. Secure your bookings here.
You can see our entertainment schedule as well as all upcoming special events on our event page. Please also follow us on Instagram and Facebook for more updates.
What is available for birthdays and other celebrations?
At Mamounia Lounge Mayfair, we love a good celebration. Over the years we have helped thousands of people celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, hen nights – and even proposals! If you are planning a special night, please let us know in advance. We are able to accommodate small decorations such as balloons etc, but confetti, glitter and the like are not permitted.
Our chocolate fondant cakes are hugely popular for celebrations. We accept requests for them to be served with ice sparklers for a subtly dramatic effect, as well as a song if that would be appreciated. Please leave a comment in your reservations notes if this is something you would like. You can book online here.
Please note that we do not generally accept food or drinks from outside the venue to be consumed on the premises. This is due to health and safety concerns. If you are planning on bringing a birthday cake with you, it is imperative to ensure that this will be accepted prior to confirming your reservation with a deposit. We cannot accept any responsibility for bookings that are disrupted because we were not aware of plans to bring in cakes from external sources.
Do you offer private hires?
Yes we do! Our downstairs restaurant area is available for private hires or dry hire. It will accommodate 60 people seated or up to 150 people standing with canapes. Aside from providing catering, we are also able to add entertainment options should you wish to add an extra level of excitement to your event. Whether it’s live music, belly dancing or DJs, simply speak to our team to find out what is available. You can view all details on our private hire brochure.
Why have I been asked for a deposit?
We require deposits for all reservations at Mamounia Lounge. Depending on the size of your group, this is either £10 per person or 50% of your total set menu cost. For some special occasions (such as New Year’s Eve), a full pre-payment may be required upfront.
When you book directly with us, this is taken as you book. If you book with external partners such as Google, OpenTable or TheFork, we will contact you with a secure payment link via our in-house booking system. Please note that reservations are not confirmed until a deposit is paid. Your deposit is redeemed against your bill. Cancellations must be made no less than 48 hours prior to your reservation in order to be refunded.
Is shisha available?
Mamounia Lounge Mayfair is well known for high quality and innovative shisha. Our shisha menu is available here. Our shisha terrace is a walk-in area only, no reservations are required. Should the terrace be full when you arrive, you would be more than welcome to have a seat at the bar, and we will seat you once a space is available. Alternatively, if you make a booking for food and drinks through our online reservation system, it is possible to request to have shisha afterwards in your reservation notes. More information on our shisha is found here.
Online reservations are available for food and drink as usual here.
What happens over Ramadan?
During Ramadan, we are open as normal. We will typically either run an iftar menu or offer a discount off the food bill for every customer who orders a minimum of two courses. Bookings must be made online to redeem any discount available (terms apply), please check here to find out what is on offer.
Dates will be made available on request for any person breaking their fast with us. If you are breaking your fast and enjoying iftar with us, please do make a note of this in the reservation notes section so we can accommodate you as such.
Is there space for prayer?
Due to health and safety constraints as well as limited space, we do not have a designated space available for prayers. There are several publicly available prayer spaces in London – some very close by. Check the closest ones to us here. Please note that we are not responsible for the content of external websites and this is intended as a guide only.
We do not serve or prepare pork, all meat is halal and as is all food produced at our venue. However, we do not classify ourselves specifically as a ‘halal venue’. We operate a fully stocked bar (mocktails are also available), and as such, alcohol is available on the premises. Our drinks menu is available here.
Afternoon tea and bookings with vouchers
Various operational changes were implemented since the first national lockdown in 2020. As a result, afternoon tea is no longer served. We offered vouchers for afternoon tea experiences with various external partners prior to this. If you are still in the possession of a voucher, we strongly advise you to exchange the voucher for another experience to avoid losing it. There is more information on how you can go about this here (see the bookings with vouchers section).
Are there any offers or discounts available?
From time to time, we do run some special offers. These range from special menus to a percentage off your bill. Be sure to keep an eye on our booking page for special offers as they appear.
