Frequently Asked Questions

What is the dress code?
Mamounia Lounge Mayfair operates a smart casual dress code. This is more relaxed during the day but after 16:00, shorts, tracksuits, sportswear, slippers and sliders are not permitted.
What happened to Mamounia Lounge Knightsbridge?
Mamounia Lounge Knightsbridge temporarily closed over the lockdown period for refurbishments and a major rebrand. It has now reopened as MAMS – a great venue for healthy, Arabic street food. Open throughout the week, you’ll be able to enjoy coffee, wraps, balance bowls, fresh juices and smoothies, a wide selection of organic drinks and much, much more. Follow MAMS on Instagram for more information.
What happens over Ramadan?
During Ramadan, we are open as normal. Although we do not tend to offer a specific iftar menu, we usually offer a discount off the food bill for every customer who orders a minimum of two courses. Bookings must be made online to redeem any discount available (terms apply), please check here to find out what is on offer.
Complimentary dates will be made available for everyone breaking their fast with us. If you are breaking your fast and enjoying iftar with us, please do make a note of this in the reservation notes section so we can accommodate you as such.
What is happening with entertainment?
In January 2023, we resumed our belly dancing schedule. You can now experience a belly dance performance every Saturday night at 22:00. We have not yet resumed live music, but we will update this page once we do so.
Please also follow us on Instagram and Facebook for more updates.
What is available for birthdays and other celebrations?
At Mamounia Lounge Mayfair, we love a good celebration. Over the years we have helped thousands of people celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, hen nights – even proposals! If you are planning a special night, please let us know in advance. We are able to accommodate small decorations such as balloons etc, but confetti, glitter and the like are not permitted.
Our chocolate fondant cakes are hugely popular for celebrations. They can be arranged to be served with ice sparklers for a subtly dramatic effect, as well as a song if that would be appreciated. Please leave a comment in your reservations notes if this is something you would like. You can book online here.
Please note that we do not accept food or drinks from outside the venue to be consumed on the premises under any circumstances due to health and safety concerns. If you would like to order a larger celebration cake, you can do so through us.
Why have I been asked for a deposit?
We require deposits for all reservations at Mamounia Lounge. Depending on the size of your group, this is either £10 per person or 50% of your total set menu cost. For some special occasions (such as New Year’s Eve, a full pre-payment is sometimes required upfront).
When you book directly with us, this is taken as you book. If you book with external partners such as Google, OpenTable or TheFork, we will contact you with a secure payment link via our in-house system SevenRooms. Please note that reservations are not confirmed until a deposit is paid. Your deposit is redeemed against your bill. Cancellations must be made no less than 48 hours prior to your reservation in order to be refunded.
Is shisha available?
We have resumed serving shisha once again at our Mayfair venue. Our shisha menu is available here. We are taking bookings for shisha over the phone – you can contact the team on 02076292211. Alternatively, you can make a booking for food and drinks through our online reservation system and request to have shisha afterwards in your reservation notes.
Online reservations are available for food and drink as usual here.
Is there space for prayer?
Due to health and safety constraints as well as limited space, we do not have a designated space available for prayers. There are several publicly available prayer spaces in London – some very close by. You can find the closest one to us here. Please note that we are not responsible for the content of external websites and this is intended as a guide only.
Although we do not serve or prepare pork, all meat is halal and as is all food produced at our venue, we do not classify ourselves as a halal venue. We operate a fully stocked bar (mocktails are also available), and as such, alcohol is available on the premises. You can view our drinks menu here.
Afternoon tea and bookings with vouchers
Due to various operational changes that we have had to implement since the first national lockdown in 2020, we are no longer able to serve afternoon tea. We offered vouchers for afternoon tea experiences with various external partners prior to this. If you are still in the possession of a voucher, we strongly advise you to exchange the voucher for another experience to avoid losing it. There is more information on how you can go about this here (see the bookings with vouchers section).
Are there any offers or discounts available?
From time to time, we do run some special offers. These range from special menus to a percentage off your bill. You can view all the offers we have available at any one time here.
